The swelling facts

Inflammation is part of everyday life.  Sometimes in cosmetic medicine we induce it, other times we treat it.  What is this and how does it occur?  Why does it happen?  Lots of questions and a very simple flow of responses.

The response your skin gives to irritants or a wound (infection or bacteria too) is swelling.  Without this swelling the wound would not heal.  Why?  Inflammation is the byproduct of the immune system's effort to fight off the infection and repair tissue at the…

Peel thy self

Peeling these days isn't limited to just those scrubs you can do at home in your bathroom. Peels are more sophisticated and more effective than ever. Making sure peeling is done safely and under the proper medical conditions is important. Whether it's a chemical peel, a microdermabrasion, an erbium, a fractional or a full co2 oblation, all of these are to be done with care and with properly trained medical professionals. March break madness!

I call it March break madness as I still have two of my six children at home and at grade school. Madness to have my carefully planned schedule changed for a week. Don't just lose it, move it!

Ever thought of moving the fat from where you don't want it to where you desire it? Sounds like a dream but it's not. I was just in Ft Lauderdale teaching a very new and exciting technique to a large group of physicians, the art of Vaser Fat Grafting. Although fat grafting has been around for many years, there have been challenges with safely, quickly and effectively harvesting a patients fat in large quantities and moving that fat to areas that may be more desirable such as the buttocks, face,… Continue

I've been everywhere says Johnny Cash - me too!

My wife spends a lot of time on the road with me and sometimes this can take a toll on even the best of skincare regimes. She is meticulous at home with her skin; it's like me brushing my teeth and combing my hair. Why is it that we are less incline to spend time when we are away from home? Is it a lack of time or is it just a lack of will? I think it's a little of both. Time flies by when you are on the road for work or pleasure so our routines take a step back in importance. Being on the…
